Pacific Treatment Alternatives

History

Pacific Treatment Alternatives (PTA) was initially incorporated as "The Drug Abuse Council of Everett", a Washington State corporation, in 1969.  Various community members formed the Council to address the increasing street drug use among young people in Everett.  Community members were from the Everett School District, Luther Child Center, the Everett Police Department, the medical profession and others.

Pacific Treatment Alternatives operated a volunteer-staffed drop-in center.  Eventually grant funding was obtained from
Snohomish County and from the State of Washington. 
Over the years PTA has and provided a variety of alcohol
and drug services including assessment, treatment, case management, outreach and urine and breath testing.

Since its inception, the agency has served over 100,000 Snohomish County residents.

Mission Statement

Pacific Treatment Alternatives will continue to be a leader
in providing substance abuse/dependency recovery for residents of Snohomish County through prevention, treatment, case management, and other services that
are effective and customer oriented.

Board of Directors

The Board currently consists of dedicated volunteers from throughout Snohomish County.  Members include several educators, a pharmacist, a technical writer, a Boeing administrator, a medical provider and others.  Through their leadership, the agency continues to provide professional services to community members in need.
